08/20/10 Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence 2010 Venice’s Crow’s Nest was recently honored by the Wine Spectator magazine with its ‘Best of Award of Excellence’.

06/28/10 ‘Treasure Hunt’ & Poker Run raises $11,340 ‘Treasure Hunt’ & Poker Run raises $11,340 for Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club of Venice The Crow’s Nest held a different kind of boating event, a ‘Treasure Hunt & Poker Run’ on June 26, 2010, 19 Boat Entries cruised the waters of Venice seeking clues to find the Treasure and collecting cards for the best Poker Hand. Entries, event proceeds and a matching grant from the Crow’s Nest Regatta Fund at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County for a total of $11,340, went to the Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club in Venice. Besides the Crow’s Nest, other major sponsors of the event were Marine Max of Venice, Cavanaugh and Co. CPA’s, Joyner Family Insurance, SEATOW Venice, Caldwell Trust Company and Pop’s Sunset Grill of Nokomis. Numerous prizes were awarded at the post event party at The Crow’s Nest. Prize donors included: Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, Marine Max, Following Seas Yacht & Boat Services, Cool Breeze Boat & Jet Ski Rentals, Kahunas Boat & Jet Ski Rentals, West Marine, Mount Gay Rum, Petland, Premier Beverage, Southern Wine & Spirits, Signmasters of Florida, Edward Don & Co., and Coca Cola.

05/27/10 Summertime Wine Dinners 2010 Summertime Wine Dinners The Crow's Nest, winner of The Wine Spectator's “Best of Award of Excellence" (one of only 2 recipients between Naples & Tampa) is proud to present its "Summertime Wine Dinners" on a select Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm. An opportunity to try some great wines at fantastic prices – many less than retail and FLORIDA LAW allows you to take home what you don't finish! Wednesdays are “Food & Wine Nights! Chef Mike & Donny will be preparing a 3 course Fixed Price Meal (they will also be available a la carte) including 3 wines for $40 ($25 without wine)! 05/14/10 Crow's Nest Treasure Hunt/Poker Run 2010 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 13, 2010 ‘Treasure Hunt’ to benefit Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club of Venice After hosting the Crow’s Nest Regatta for 30 years the Crow’s Nest is changing course and will be hosting a different kind of boating event, a ‘Treasure Hunt & Poker Run’ on June 26, 2010, 10 am – 5 pm. Entries and event proceeds will go entirely to the Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club in Venice. The ‘Treasure Hunt & Poker Run’ is a fun boat rally (not a race) involving a 2-3 hour cruise of local waterways. Boats of all sizes are welcome. Cruisers will need their wits to follow clues to find the ‘Treasure’ and will also collect cards at various locations on the water trying for the best poker hand. Prizes will be awarded at the Post-Cruise BBQ & Party which will feature tropical music, fun & games. Boaters can participate by making a charitable contribution of $100 per boat (up to 4 people) to the Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club in Venice. With entry boaters receive tickets to the post race party and an event T shirt. Additional tickets to the event are $25 per person.
